Corporate Gifts

You are probably very familiar with the belief that in giving gifts, “It is the thought that counts.” You would logically think perhaps that it is the thought of the giver ‘that counts’, but actually it is the thought of the recipient that really matters, since it is he who will put the value on the gift. Think about it. If he values your gift he will treasure it, no matter its actual pecuniary worth. If not, he will relegate your gift to the backburner of the showcase, if not the dustbin of ignored objects, even if you have spent all your worldly wealth in acquiring it. 

Therefore, the best alternatives to expensive gifts that may go unappreciated are unique gifts. Why?
  • First, the possession of a unique gift bestows on the owner the honor of being rare himself for having such an uncommon object.
  • Second, that being so, the gift itself will certainly be appreciated and treasured by the recipient, primarily for being unique and, secondarily, for the honor it bestows.
  • Third, by extension and logic, the recipient will then honor and become grateful to the giver for bestowing upon him --the beneficiary-- the honor of being rare and unique, through the given gift.
  • Last, in the end therefore, it is the giver himself who is honored.
